Interesting Facts

Griggs has more than 20 years of experience in community pharmacy, working as a pharmacist at Albertsons, CostCo, Target, the University of Texas Health Center Pharmacy, as well as several independent/compounding pharmacies. He is currently licensed as a pharmacist in both Texas and Missouri. Prior to joining St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Griggs was a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Texas (Austin) College of Pharmacy for a number of courses: Basic Intravenous Admixtures, Experiential Pharmacy Practice and Patient Counseling, Immunizations, Pharmacy Ethics and Professional Communications, Pharmacoeconomics and Advanced Pharmacotherapy Lab. 

In July 2007, Griggs began an academic appointment as assistant professor, pharmacy practice, at the University of the Incarnate Word, Feik School of Pharmacy, San Antonio, Texas. While at Incarnate Word, Griggs designed (course creator) and taught: Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes I, Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes II, and Pharmacy Management, in addition to assisting with several other courses.

In the summer of 2009, Griggs returned to Austin to complete his Ph.D. dissertation while continuing to work as a staff pharmacist for Target. He then accepted a position as assistant professor, pharmacy administration, at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in October 2011. At STLCOP, Griggs currently coordinates and teaches Healthy Systems Management-Economic Aspects as well as two elective courses: Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research and Introduction to Pharmacy Entrepreneurship.
