Current Research

My current research foccus on understanding the role of Estrogen Related Receptors (ERR) in muscle metabolism and metabolic disorders. The ERR family have been desmostrated to control mitochindrial biogenesis, oxidative metabolism and energy expenditure.

I am currently working on understanding the role of ERR in these mechanisms using synthetic ligands developed in the lab.

Other aspect of my research includes undertanding the role of 2 other nuclear receptors, ROR and Rev-Erb, in the regulation of inflammatory disorders and cardiovascular diseases.

My research involves in vivo models of metabolic disorders, cellular and molecular biology, next generation sequencing and bio-informatics.
