Narrative

Bob Zebroski currently serves the University as a Professor of History, Chair of the Liberal Arts Department, and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Current Research

My current research has been my long standing interest in the histroy of pharmacy, especially alternative and patent medicine throughout the ages.  

Working on a presentation and an article about how soda pop, which began as patent medicines. now has evolved into a multi-billion dollar worldwide industry.

Working on a new history of medicine and pharmacy course based on my book about the subject.

Vita Highlights

Received 7 teaching awards for excellence in teaching from two universities, the most notable being the CASE/Carnegie Foundation Missouri Professor of the Year Award in 2003.

Honored by 4 UHSP Service awards for my work with students and student organizations.

Two books:

"Pharmacy Pioneers: The First 150 Years of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy"  (Reedy Press: St. Louis, 2018) co-authored with Dennis Doyle.

"A Brief History of Pharmacy: Humanity's Serach for Wellness"  (Routledge:New York, 2015)

Served 9 years as an department chair.

Interesting Facts

Blessed with a wonderful family and long-standing friendships.  Hobbies include:  reading, sports, raising tropical fish, and gardening.
